DESCRIPTION

If the front passenger side door entry unlock function does not operate but the entry lock function operates, the communication between the vehicle and electrical key transmitter is normal. The malfunctioning part may be the unlock sensor circuit (certification ECU → front door outside handle assembly (for passenger side)).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
  1. The entry and start system (for entry function) uses a multiplex communication system (LIN communication system) and CAN communication system. Inspect the communication function by following How to Proceed with Troubleshooting (Click here). Troubleshoot the entry and start system (for entry function) after confirming that the communication system is functioning properly.
  2. When using the intelligent tester with the engine switch off to troubleshoot: Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3, and turn a courtesy light switch on and off at 1.5-second intervals until communication between the tester and vehicle begins.

1.CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION

  1. When the door control switch on the master switch assembly is operated, check that the doors unlock and lock according to switch operation (Click here).

    OK:
    Door locks operate normally.

2.READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DOOR LOCK POSITION SWITCH)

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

  1. Turn the intelligent tester on.

  1. Enter the following menus: Body / Main Body / Data List.

  1. Read the Data List according to the display on the intelligent tester.

3.READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (P-DOOR TOUCH SENSOR)

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

  1. Turn the intelligent tester on.

  1. Enter the following menus: Body / Entry & Start / Data List.

  1. Read the Data List according to the display on the intelligent tester.

4.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU - DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR)

  1. Disconnect the certification ECU connector.

  1. Disconnect the front door outside handle assembly (for passenger side) connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:

  1. Reconnect the certification ECU and front door outside handle assembly (for passenger side) connector.
